Welcomed Terrorism

Read: Psalm 1

Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.                        Psalm 1:1

Before President Bush explained to the American people who Al-Qaeda was in his post-9/11 speech, very few had even heard of them. I certainly had not, but it quickly became apparent that Al-Qaeda was a well-organized, well-funded, and well-manned terrorist organization. As the leaders in the Al-Qaeda organization were slowly exposed, it turned out that some of them had actually been Americans who had quietly joined their ranks. Unbeknownst to the general population in America, some of America’s own people had been plotting to destroy them. It makes the blood boil and strikes the patriotic nerve in most Americans to learn that some of their own could commit such atrocities. Many young men were so stirred that they joined the military to help fight against Al-Qaeda’s terrorism.
No patriotic American would ever consider even allowing a terrorist to dwell amongst them, let alone giving money to support them in their endeavors. Yet many young people are doing just that. They may not be supporting physical terrorism against our country, but they are supporting spiritual terrorism, which is far worse. Young people allow spiritual terrorists to infiltrate every aspect of their thinking as they are perched on the couch in front of the television. They gladly give their money in support of the media companies that are trying to bring down Christianity by buying their DVDs and video games. They prop in their ears the headphones that are blasting filth into their minds through the country songs, rock songs, and other ungodly music. They lift up the “terrorists” who are promoting this wickedness and call them pop stars. Unknowingly, they are turning the parent companies of these “stars” into multi-billion dollar empires that will turn around and use that money to combat the very Christianity these young people claim to love and embrace.
Young men are stirred up to fight terrorism against America; and they should be, for this is our nation, and it must be defended. Likewise, they should be stirred up against the domestic terrorism that seeks to bring down the name of Christ, for He it is to Whom we will bow forever. They should be stirred to fight under the banner of Heaven, for that is the country to which we are going for all of eternity. Be careful where your loyalty lies, and be sure you are not one who supports the spiritual terrorism of darkness.

Quote of the day: “I am not so much afraid of dying as I am of sinning; that is ten times worse than death.”   – C.H. Spurgeon.
